Over the summer of 2025, I was a rural placemaking fellow with IU's Center for Rural Engagement, working on projects with rural towns throughout Indiana. Showcased here are two of those projects: Nashville's Lincoln Pinch Park and Brookville's Printers Alley Murals.
These projects involved multiple conversations with community stakeholders and presentation rounds where they offered feedback.
Throughout the process, I learned a lot about co-designing with communities and communicating through design challenges. Nashville's Lincoln Pinch Park, located in a floodplain, presented significant constraints that required close collaboration with clients and the local DNR.
At the project's conclusion, we presented our work to design professionals and community members from the towns we worked with.
